If you are a coffee monster, then I have a very good news for you!
Over the past few decades, there has been lot of debates regarding the consumption of coffee. In the year 1991, World Health Organization stated something different about coffee and cancer. They classified coffee as one of the possible carcinogens. However, they were wrong and with lots of arguments, they amended their findings and declared Coffee as a non-carcinogenic drink.

Another finding came in the highlight in March 2018, that compelled the companies to put cancer labels on coffee products in California. The reason behind that was a study showed roasted coffee produced a chemical named “acrylamide” which was later classified as one of the carcinogenic elements.
But worry not, there’s no provoking relationship between coffee and cancer. “Acrylamide” has shown the effects of carcinogens only in animals or specifically lab rodents.
Catherine Carpenter, PhD, MPH and adjunct professor at the UCLA Center for Human Nutrition states that, “Large amounts of acrylamide has been successful to show cancer causes in most of the animals. However, there’s no compelling evidence showing the risk of cancer in humans.”
Further she adds, “Animals are exposed up to 60 times higher concentration of acrylamide than what we are exposed to. If you were about to get such high exposure of acrylamide on a daily basis, then there’s bigger problems than just the increment of cancer risk.”
