Our body weight is determined by the amount of energy that we take in as food and the amount of energy we use in the action of our day. Energy measured in calories. Metabolism is the combination of all chemical processes within the body that sustain life. Our basal metabolic rate is the number of calories we need for our body to carry out necessary works. If our weight remains constant, this is a sign that we are taking in the same amount of calories that we burn daily. If we are slowly gaining weight over time, it is that our caloric intake is greater than the calories we burn through our daily actions.
Weight loss is a decrease in a body weight. Weight loss can be intentional, such as from exercise, dieting and yoga or unintentional can be lead to illness.
