10 Signs of Spiritual Intelligence

Your Spiritual Intelligence is your compass. Are you spiritually intelligent?

Do you want to know the signs of Spiritual Intelligence in You. Spiritual Intelligence aka Spiritual Quotient, as vague and complex as it sounds is a concept. It was developed by philosophers and psychologists to indicate spiritual parallels with IQ; EQ (Emotional Quotient) and IQ (Intelligence Quotient). Did you understand anything? I don’t think you did and neither did I.

Let’s put this simply. Spiritual Intelligence is not something measurable like an IQ, but a series of principles and beliefs that gave birth to this term. It was originally coined by American-British author Danah Zohar in 1997. Though many didn’t lay eyes on it during those times, it has gained much popularity in recent years. Spiritual intelligence is a light that guides your body, mind, and soul. It helps you be the best version of yourself and give you the reason to exist and live.

Does Spiritual Intelligence Exist?

Do you know who has the highest level of IQ ever recorded in the world? William James Sidis with IQ score: 250-300. Now, we all know Albert Einstein, the greatest scientist of the human history and he had an IQ of 160, which is low compared to James Sidis. But, Einstein will always be one of the most successful and intelligent scientists in the world. So this leaves us with the big question: “Does IQ alone guarantees you to be successful in your life?”

NO.

If it did, then we would be no different than Artificial Intelligence (AI). That’s where emotional intelligence and most importantly spiritual intelligence comes. According to a study, emotional intelligence was two times more important in contributing to excellence as compared to intellect and expertise alone. It’s obvious that emotions are tricky and thus, success is based on how you control every emotion. The 90/10 principle states,

“10 percent of life is made up by what happens to us and how you react decides the 90 percent of it. We don’t have control of the 10 percent but we have control of the 90 percent. You decide what to do when; you lost an important deal, break up with your loved one, crazy guy knock your car or even working with a client who doesn’t appreciate your work. The 90 percent is the most important is what comprises the emotional intelligence.”

But that’s not it guys. Aside from IQ and EQ, there’s another quotient that determines everything; your emotions and intelligence and that is Spiritual Quotient/Intelligence. The personality of the human being is guided by the 3 needs; the need of body (eating, sleeping, mating and defending), the need of mind (seeking positive relationship and reject negative ones) and the need of intellect (seeking knowledge).

Hence, SQ does exist and it’s the higher form of intelligence that encompasses wisdom, compassion, integrity, joy, creativity, sense of purpose and peace. Bottom line is that spiritual intelligence results in a sense of deeper meaning and purpose, combined with improvements in a wide range of important life skills and work skills
