7 Tips To Soothe Your Dry And Itchy Skin

In addition, if you are scrubbing your skin too much with loafers, you are ripping off that protective layer leaving your skin dry and dehydrated.

Sunflower  Oil

Sunflower oil is one of the excellent choices to hydrate your skin. It is widely used for the cosmetic purpose and is rich in nutrients and antioxidants. It supplies your skin with moisture and removes dead cells and impurities. This oil contains fatty acids and vitamins that automatically helps you get rid of the annoying dry and itchy skin.

Petroleum Jelly

Petroleum jelly is one of the main household remedies to soothe dry skin. As it is very gentle on the skin, it’s best home remedy for sensitive skin. In addition, it is safe and cheap. The American Academy of Dermatology recommends it as a dry skin soother for all areas of the body, from your lips to your hands to your feet. It can be used as often as you want.

Aloe Vera

Aloe vera is a boon to your skin. It helps to get rid of dead skin and soothes dry & damaged skin. It contains anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties which help to heal dry skin. You can also use the creams and gels that contain aloe vera. According to a study published in the February 2008 edition of “Skin Pharmacology and Physiology,” aloe vera has calming and anti-inflammatory effects on skin that has been sunburned, within 48 hours of topical application. This means it can also reduce redness, swelling and discomfort of dry skin.

Milk

Milk contains fat called ‘phospholipid’ which improves your skin barrier. All you need to do is drink more and more milk. For better result drink a glass of milk two times a day. Not only this, milk can be used as a natural moisturizer by applying it on skin. Pour 2-3 tablespoons of milk into a bowl, add a teaspoon full of honey and apply it on your face or the affected area for 5 minutes.

Honey

The moisturizing, anti-inflammatory and healing qualities of honey settles your skin. It is a humectant, which means it can draw moisture from the air to the skin and retains the moisture with in the layers, ensuring long lasting hydration. You can directly apply honey on your skin as it is safe and natural.
