1.Twitching of Eyes

Twitching of eyes, also known as myokymia is an involuntary and repetitive spasm of the eyelid. Though they seem common and harmless, they are linked with several conditions such as alcoholism, fatigue, caffeine, insomnia, stress, or smoking. In rare cases, they can be a sign of a problem with your nervous system, like multiple sclerosis. Also, eye twitches can occur due to side effects of some medications but they can be possible signs of medical conditions such as conjunctivitis, light sensitivity or problems with the nervous system.

2.Bulging Eyes

Bulging eyes or protruding eyes are a rare yet dangerous condition. Some are born with bulging eyes but in most cases, it is due to an underlying medical condition. It could be a potential sign of hyperthyroidism. An autoimmune disorder called Graves’ disease is a common form of hyperthyroidism. Hence bulging eyes can be a warning sign of Graves’ disease. Medication or surgery can help control the amount of hormones your thyroid makes, but they won’t cure the underlying disease.

3.Drooping eyelids

Drooping eyelids are certainly not pretty and certainly not healthy as well. It can be a warning sign of a serious disease, Myasthenia Gravis. This disease attacks your immune system and weakens your muscles, affecting your eyes, face and throat muscles, making it difficult to chew, swallow, look and even speak. Also in other cases, drooping eyelids can also be a warning sign of conditions such as stroke, brain tumor and cancer of the nerves and muscles. So, if you’re getting droopy eyes, it’s better to reach out for your doctor immediately!

4.White Circle around the iris

White circle around the iris which is also termed as Arcus Senilis is a gray or white arc visible ring around the iris of your eye. Though it’s a sign of aging, it can denote that you have high cholesterol and triglycerides levels, if you’re not old! This ultimately signifies that you are at an increased risk of heart attack and stroke.

5.Red and Dry eyes

Red eyes can be a symptom of many causes such as lack of sleep or exposure to extreme heat or wind. However, red eyes can denote that you have serious eye allergies such as conjunctivitis or glaucoma. Similarly, when you suffer dry eyes, you might be at the risk of several dangerous eye diseases such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid disorders, lupus, damage of tear gland and so on.

6. Sudden Blurry vision

An abrupt blurry vision can denote the number of things. It may be a sign of a problem with the blood flow to your eye or your brain. Immediate medical attention can prevent serious damage and may even save your life. Also, blurry vision or loss of vision can be a warning sign of diabetes. If not treated, you might even suffer from diabetic retinopathy; a medical condition when tiny blood vessels start leaking blood and other fluids in your eyes.  Even if your vision gets better quickly, it might still be a warning of a stroke or the beginning of a migraine headache.

7.Yellow eye whites

Yellow eye whites along with yellow skin denote that you’re suffering from jaundice. Moreover, it also means that you have problems with liver, caused due to high levels of bilirubin. This happens when your liver is damaged or inflamed.  Too much bilirubin in the bloodstream can cause leaks into surrounding tissues, such as the skin and eyes. This causes them to turn yellow.
